Baptisms

We’re delighted you are considering a lifelong journey for yourself or your child by following Jesus. Baptism (often called Christening) is just the start of that journey when you are welcomed in God’s family.

For parents of young children, we take the opportunity to chat to you in more detail over 1 or 2 afternoons or evenings to enable you to prepare for this commitment and the promises that are made. This helps you explore the Christian faith in more detail and ask questions. After this we can talk about the service itself and other details such as Godparents.

For older children, young people and adults who were not baptised as a child, we would be delighted to explore baptism together. Full immersion baptisms are available and are featured in our main service at 10.30am.

We also hold services of thanksgiving for those who are not at the stage of making promises or don’t wish to have their child baptised but do want to thank God publicly and ask His blessing on them and the family.

If you’re considering a baptism or a thanksgiving service we’d be very happy to discuss this with you, please contact the parish office here or you can phone us on 01256 840502.
