Every Tuesday morning during term time we welcome anyone from the community of pre-school age and their carers to Chat ‘n’ Play. It’s an informal group where everyone can get together, play with toys, do puzzles, read books and chat. We also provide a drink and a healthy snack as well as a craft activity each week! There’s also some time at the end of each session to sing songs too!
During the 10am Sunday services* children have a fantastic opportunity to learn with each other as they’re provided with additional teaching and activities outside the main worship area – this group is called God’s Gifts. The children chose the name, we believe children are a gift from God both to their individual families and to the wider church family.
Young people face all sorts of challenges as they navigate life so we offer this group during the 10am Sunday service* during term time to support and nurture them as a valued part of our church family. They use the bible as a basis to have discussion to grow and develop their Christian faith.
Our older youth (school years 10 to 13) meet as a home group on alternate Sundays in term time from 8pm to 9.30pm.
On the first Friday of each month St Mark’s opens up the church to young people in school years 5-8 to relax and meet up with friends. Games such as basketball, pool and table tennis are available as well as computer games.

Here at St Mark’s we have all sorts going on between the Sunday services. Most of these occur every week and we have a group (SMAK) that meets at our local pub (The Kestrel) once a month.

Here at St Mark’s we do everything we can to teach children about God and nurture the growing faith of children and youth by providing ages appropriate opportunities both here at church during the Sunday worship time and out and about during the week.
Being a Christian is just about popping to church on a Sunday right? Fortunately not! Being a Christian is mostly about the in-between bits! And these can be the most challenging! Here at St Mark’s we have small groups that meet during the week to nurture our faith and support each other. During this time we study the bible, follow up the week’s sermon and pray together. What happens during this time can be flexible to meet the needs of the group.

Following the Who Cares? mission, where hundreds of cards were distributed, we asked a simple but fundamental question – “What hurts?”. As a church, we heard a lot of people in our community simply wanted to get together.

We are fortunate at St Mark’s to worship using a variety of styles from traditional hymns to newer songs from Spring Harvest. We recently installed a fantastic new organ, funded by generous donations from our community. We also have a versatile group of musicians who meet on a Tuesday evening for fellowship and to practice music.
St Mark’s At the Kestrel is a group that meets on the first Monday of every month at our local pub on Kempshott Lane.
