Defibrillator Defibrillator

Replacement Defibrillators for Kempshott

I spotted this posted on the Kempshott Noticeboard Facebook page, I know not everyone is on social media so I am sharing it on the Newsletter should you wish to make a donation to the community Go Fund Me.

The community of Kempshott previously had access to two defibrillators; one at Kempshott Post Office and one at Old Down Hall.

Currently the Post Office has a temporary loan machine and Old Down Hall cabinet is empty.

The machines that were in both cabinets had faults and are beyond economic repair.

Our hope is that we can raise sufficient funds to purchase two new machines, and potentially a third for a new location within Kempshott.
Funds will also go towards maintenance and replacing pads and equipment when necessary.

There are around 30,000 out of hospital cardiac arrests in the UK every year. Fewer than 1 in 10 people survive without a defibrillator.
(source: British Heart Foundation) It’s proven that if a defibrillator is used within 3-5 minutes, survival can reach 50-70% (source:Resuscitation council UK)

We appreciate that times are tough but if all the community contributes as much or little as they can, we can replace vital equipment that’s accessible to all (but hopefully never needed!).

If one life is saved then it has got to be worth it.
