CAP – Showing people God’s Love in Action

What would you do if you learned that somebody you know is struggling? I know you’d want to help. What if they’re struggling with money? It probably won’t help if you lend them a few quid. Their need may go much deeper than the short term of being able to buy bread and milk. So what can you do?

You can help someone to get access to the CAP services that they need. We have a team of Money Coaches – some from our Parish and some friends in other Parishes in the town – who regulalry run Money Coaching for people who need some tips, tricks and access to some great tools, all designed to let people get in control of their funances. So why not pick up a “Budgeting Like A Boss” flyer and hand it to that somebody.

Or if you think that somebody is in debt and needs help to get back on an even keel, we are blessed to have a CAP Debt Centre here in Basingstoke. The Debt Coaches (currently from Mosaic Church in Wade Road) will befriend that somebody, will connect them with the team at CAP HQ who will create a bespoke budget for them and will even negotiate with creditors. Martin Lewis, of Money Saving Expert and ITV fame, recommends CAP’s Debt Centres as the most friendly way to get help.

So you can point that somebody to http://capuk.org where they will get connected to the Debt Centre and hand-held through the process of recovery. And, along the way, they will be told and shown how much God loves them and wants the best for them. More than 2,000 people a year come to faith through engaging with CAP services. Our faith in God’s love in action.
