Basingstoke Night Light Winter Shelter

So more details on the work of the Basingstoke Night Light Winter Shelter.

The shelter is a collaborative effort organised by local churches, and we host our guests at different church venues each night of the week. Many of our volunteers are regular churchgoers, and it’s part of our tradition to come together for a short prayer at the start of our meetings. Of course, we warmly welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, whether religious or not, and if praying isn’t something you’re comfortable with, please feel free to step out for that part – there’s absolutely no pressure.

The project is rooted in Christian values, and we’re open about that with our guests. However, our priority is always to support those in need, and we never discriminate for any reason – everyone is welcome.

We’re holding induction training for new volunteers on Saturday, 8 November at 10:00 or Tuesday, 11 November at 19:30. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about how the project operates and to decide if it’s the right fit for you.
