We have started the countdown clock for the run up to the Annual Meeting on 11th May. There are actually two meetings – the Annual Parish Meeting which exists solely to elect Church Wardens – and the Annual Parochial Church Meeting which exists to receive our Annual Report, to elect Lay Members to the PCC, and receive the accounts. The meetings are both quite short, almost fun, and incorporated into the 10:30 service at Saint Mark’s on 11th May.
If you want to nominate somebody for either role (Church Warden or Lay Member of PCC) then you can do so online via the website or on good old-fashioned paper. Paper forms are available in both churches. This is the address on the website to make your nomination. https://www.parishofbasingstokedown.org.uk/nominations/nominee-form/. You do need to be on the Electoral Roll to make or second any nomination and to vote on the outcome (if indeed a vote is needed) and please make sure you’ve got the agreement of the person you plan to nominate before you do it!
The Electoral Roll revision is also now completed and the revised Roll can be viewed on request via the Office. Only first and last names will be displayed and no other personal information. Don’t worry, if you missed the window for the publication ahead of the Annual Meeting, we can still add you to the Roll: just ask the Office for an Application Form.
Finally, I mentioned the Annual Report being part of the APCM. Well that Report is now ready for you to read at your leisure (click here to view the Report); if you need a hardcopy of the Report, please ask the Office. And, if you have any questions about it, the APCM is the perfect place to ask them.
Cheers
Jon
