Christmas Hampers and volunteering opportunities…

Besom and Basingstoke Foodbank join together each Christmas to provide local individuals and families with a food hamper. All have have been referred by local agencies, because they won’t be able to buy Christmas treats without sacrificing staple food or heating. Every hamper contains festive food, plus a card with a prayer, Bible verse and details of how the recipient can find their local church.

The team organising the hampers would like our help to deliver them – this is a valuable opportunity to meet some of the most vulnerable people in our local community. Please do let the parish office know if you can help.

You may also want to donate festive food and treats to the Christmas Hamper appeal. Full details are listed below of the Christmas treats needed – please deliver these to: Festival Place between 9.30am and 5.30pm on Monday to Saturday from 1st to 23rd December.

There will also be a team packing Christmas Hampers in Festival Place (opposite the Apple shop) Mondays to Saturdays. If you can help please email and let them know if you can do a morning or afternoon 4 hour slot (there is free parking in Festival Place for volunteers). Do invite a friend or family or work colleague to join you.

Thank you for supporting local people in need during Christmas.
